Brain tumor survivors are more than five times more likely to be unemployed than other childhood cancer survivors. Survivors may face a multitude of effects as a result of their brain tumor and its treatment. The effects may be physical, like loss of vision or hearing or altered gait. They may be cognitive, like slowed processing or memory loss. They may also face behavioral or emotional changes. These changes, whether visible or invisible, are frequently overlooked, minimized, misunderstood or not adequately addressed by educators, vocational programs and employers.
