Dealing with a brain tumor when you are a teenager or a young adult, brings about a whole new set of challenges. Whether you were diagnosed when you were a child, a teenager or a young adult, these resources may help you. each site and group has its own personality. Find a group you can relate to.

Young Adults

PlanetCancer Online Community
The Planet Cancer Web site provides a unique voice for young adults who have been affected by cancer: fresh and irreverent, but always honest. The site offers information, connections, entertainment and support. The heart of the site is the Forum, a thriving online community where users find and communicate with other young adults around the world about what's on their minds – from death or fertility issues to dumb things people say.

I’m Too Young for This!
End the isolation and improve the quality of life for young adults affected by cancer.

Cancer Care, Inc.
Cancercare has a special program for young adults with cancer. They offer on-line and telephone support.

Survivor Alert
SURVIVOR ALERT is a nationwide awareness initiative offering information, links to many resources, and recommendations for action for young adult cancer survivors and the health professionals who treat them.

The Ulman Fund for Young Adults
A great connection site for survivors, parents and young adults with cancer. There is a mix of childhood cancer survivors and survivors diagnosed as a young adult. They offer a special guide for teens and young adults which stays it all “No Way It Can’t Be.”

The Wellness Group
Online, facilitated support for cancer patients 21 and older. The groups meet at a scheduled date and time.

Vital Options International
Conversations about cancer from experts, patients and survivors. There are frequent young adult guests and young adult particpatns.

Look Good...Feel Better for Teens is a non-medical, public service to help teens aged 13-17 who have cancer deal with the possible appearance-related, social and nutritional side effects of treatment.

The Bendheim Integrative Medicine Center
The programs offered at the Benhdheim Integrative Medicine Center are designed to enhance quality of life, increase self-awareness, and prevent health problems through a unique healing regime focusing on the body, mind and spirit. Integrative medicine combines the discipline of modern science with the wisdom of ancient healing. For people living with chronic or life-threatening illness, it can transform the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of their lives. Integrative medicine may also be valuable to those who are not ill but wish to increase self-awareness, enhance well-being, and help prevent health-related problems.
The services offered (massage, acupuncture, meditation, nutritional counseling, reiki, and movement and fitness classes) are used in order to alleviate stress, reduce pain and anxiety, manage symptoms, and promote a feeling of well-being.

Integrative Medicine Service's About Herbs Web Site
The About Herb's Web Site (provided by the Integrative Medicine Service) is an information resource, providing evidence-based information about herbs, botanicals, supplements, and more. There are evaluations of alternative or unproven cancer therapies.

American Institute for Cancer Research
This is the only Web site dedicated to diet and its relationship to cancer and cancer prevention.

American Lung Association
Hopefully as a survivor, you didn’t start the habit, but just in case you did-here’s how to quit.
