Health Care Reform Upheld

By Wade Iwata
Thursday, June 28, 2012

Today, June 28, 2012 the United States Supreme Court upheld the Health Care Reform Law from 2010. This is a huge victory for President Obama and his team, as well as for supporters of health care reform.  For many people, the law is confusing and many are not aware of how it will impact them.  Below is a link to a video that explains health care reform in an understandable way.

Additionally, here are a few changes in the law that directly affects children who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

1. Children under the age of 26 are able to stay on their parent’s health insurance.

2. You cannot be denied health insurance for a pre-existing condition.

3. No more lifetime limits on benefits

For many the topic of health care reform has been a hot button topic.  Recent polls showed the majority of respondents were opposed to health care reform.  However, with today’s decision by the US Supreme Court, many lives will be changed.  For the families that CBTF works with, our goals are to help educate you on the issues that affect you and your children.  The above video and the list of changes are meant to highlight some of the ways in which your family may be impacted.   The implications have not been fully seen and the impact will continue to be felt for years to come.  CBTF will continue to keep you up to date on current changes in health care, as well as the impact health care reform has on the families we work with.
