CBTF OPENS YOUNG ADULT CANCER WEEK AT FILM DEBUT
This is Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week. CBTF started it off by participating in the film debut of Wrong Way To Hope- The movie brought together eight young adult cancer survivors during an eight day river journey down the Owyhee River. Each day they had an open discussion about a different topic which impacts all young adult cancer patients and survivors including isolation, fear and uncertainty, transition and identity. The film was candid, moving and much needed.
My quote of the night was when asked if cancer was a person, “what would you name it?”, Jared, a brain cancer survivor, said he would name it Ninja Dictator Thief. Ninja for sneaking up on him, Dictator for taking over without his permission and Thief for all it took from him. What would you name cancer?
