Today marks the end of my first week with CBTF. It has been a week filled with introductions, learning new databases, and trying to get my bearings in order. I am excited to be working here at CBTF as a social worker and I look forward to the connections, contacts, and collaborations with the many people affiliated with CBTF.
I come to CBTF with a great desire and passion for the mission and work CBTF accomplishes. I most recently worked at a national non-profit supporting people affected by a cancer diagnosis. I believe the experiences and knowledge I gained there will assist me in supporting patients and families dealing with brain and spinal cord tumors.
As my first week draws to a close, I am excited for some of the upcoming projects that I will be working on in the coming months. First, along with Stacia Wagner, CBTF will be hosting an event in February at Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Times Square. This event is geared to our Teen and Young Adult Survivors and is sure to be an interesting and thrilling first event for me. I am also in the midst of planning our two family summer camps this year; one in the NYC metropolitan area and the other in Wisconsin. It is looking like these will offer amazing opportunities to bond with others in a fun and supportive environment.  Please continue to check back for more information on these camps as well as future events at CBTF.

Again, I am thrilled to be working at CBTF and I look forward to getting to know all who are involved with the organization.
