CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PHILIDELPHIA RESEARCH EFFORTS
Children's Hosptial of Philadelphia (CHOP) is cited for its progress in discovering a new gene linked to childhood cancer, in this case neuroblastoma. The discovery, reported online in Nature, highlights the discovery of variations in a gene as important contributors to neuroblastoma.
What makes this exciting to us is that CBTF's Children's Brain Tumor Tissue Consortium relies on the same approach to discovery seen in action in this report. The report cites the Centre for Applied Genomics at CHOP, which the Consortium we are spearheading will rely upon to analysis pediatric brain tumor tissue. In addition, the study highlights the collaboration required to acquire samples which is a hallmark of the Consortium project.
